Location: Exact location not found.
Past records indicate that some graves were taken up and moved to Pine Grove. These records mix the burials from this cemetery and the Storer Cemetery, but I believe they are separate, on opposite sides of the road. On the 1858 and 1880 maps there is a cemetery marked on the north side of Sam Brown Hill Road across from Jeremiah W. Storer’s house and to the east of George S. Blake’s house. About 0.37 miles west on Sam Brown Hill Road from its intersection with Old County Road, on the north side, there is a slightly raised square area in the pasture that has what looks like grave depressions around 43.92041, -70.95361. This is across from #84, which was previously the Dr. Pearson home. However it is more likely that the cemetery was farther west down the hill so that it was across from the original Jeremiah Storer house (#94). There is an opening in the stone wall there and it better approximates the location shown on the map.
Historical Information:
From past records it appears that the following people were buried here: Sylvia Blake (wife of George S. Blake), Alonzo P. and Lucinda W. (children of Benjamin E. Blake) and possibly Thomas and Louisa M. Brooks (either here or Storer Cemetery). Sylvia, Thomas and Louisa have stones in Pine Grove; Alonzo and Lucinda are listed on a family stone in the Blake Cemetery.
