From its intersection with Bickford Pond road, walk (or drive with a 4WD vehicle) 300 yards east on Douglas Mill Road. The cemetery is 200 feet north into the woods. It is surrounded by a wrought iron fence and contains one broken gravestone.
Historical Information:
The Brooks Cemetery is located just northwest of the cellar where Asahel Brooks lived. While there is more room in the cemetery, there are no other fieldstones or grave depressions. There is also a gravestone for Asahel in the Porter Village Cemetery. It is unknown whether this is just a cenotaph or if his remains were actually moved to the town cemetery.
Asahel Brooks died June 22, 1868, aged 68 years.
Condition (10/20/19):
The gravestone fragment is leaning against a tree in the middle of the small cemetery. The wrought iron fence is in good condition.
