Christ’s Church

Christ’s Church After Restoration

Once called the world’s tiniest church, Christ’s Church on Porter Road in West Brownfield is no longer record-holding, but is definitely still full of charm. Built about 1915 by Harry and Estella Barton to serve their family and neighbors, this small church has seen many a church service and wedding. The Barton descendants donated the building and quarter acre of land to the Brownfield Historical Society in 2020. Since then BHS volunteers, assisted by carpenter Joe Kiesman, have made many repairs and renovations.

You can make donations to the Christ’s Church Fund to help the Brownfield Historical Society maintain the structure. Donations can be sent by mail to PO Box 264, Brownfield, ME 04010 or by Venmo: @Brownfieldhistorical
