Directions: From its intersection with Route 5, drive 0.25 miles east on Slab City Road. Gain permission to visit the cemetery from #47 on the south side of the road, then enter the driveway at #50 on the north side of the road. The cemetery is 300 feet north in the corner of the property and is currently maintained yearly by a family member. There are two carved headstones, one set of fieldstones marked with a Civil War flag holder, two definite grave depressions, and two possible grave depressions.
This family burial ground of Stephen G. McAllister (containing 12 square rods) and a right of way to it were excepted from the deed of sale when Stephen McAllister sold the surrounding property to Ezra Heald on August 20, 1880 (Book 66, Page 602). The burial ground is still used as a boundary in the description of the Karter Taylor property at R06-019.

Condition (10/19/24): According to abutting landowners, a McAllister descendent comes once a year to clean up the cemetery. At this visit most of the ground was clear of growth, partially due to low light levels in the wooded area. Betsey’s gravestone has been repaired.
